We have just come back from Mallorca and must admit that considering it was August it was lovely and quiet as in not that many people around visiting sites and eating out. Anyone else had similar experiences?

Just back from Playa Blanca in Lanzarote and my concerns about getting into restaurants as there were 8 of us were completely unfounded as we never had any problems at all.

I've never been there in August before and was surprised at how few people there were

Yes, I can imagine with a group of 8 it is a bit more of a challenge in August...I like Playa Blanca, nice resort on Lanzarote...In Pollenca there were always tables available, parking was not an issue, heck even going to the beach in Formentor wasn't busy...

Long may this 'recession' last :)
