I currently feed Sky into my Yamaha Amplifier using a RGB to S-Video Convertor, the S-Video lead obviously goes into the Amp then comes out of the Amp using another S-Video lead into my Plasma.
I appreciate that Component is supposed to be better but I've loved the S-Video picture for the past 18 months.

I'm moving in 2 weeks and have cancelled Sky, I'm getting a Sony or Pioneer freeview box which outputs S-Video through the scart socket so I'm presuming that if I get a Scart to S-Video cable this will plug into my Amp without the need for the Convertor.

The simple question is, would this produce a better or worse picture ??
I think it would be better but I don't know that much !!!

    Thanks for looking, Foxy ..

If you must use s-video I'd use one of John Sims boxes. Best way to turn RGB into s-video.

Better still get the Netgem box which ouptuts component and use that - miles better than s-video.
