I think I know the answer already, but here goes.
Is there any way to save a HD broadcast (for example a film in HD watched on my SKY HD box) to a computer film like MKV, so I can keep it forever to play on my Media Player?
I know there's some sort of box (Humanex?) but I'm not sure the quality is good and it looks clunky and expensive.
I notice a few HDD recorders have a USB port for extra storage - could this be utilised? Similarly I think some TVs now have a record facility. Can you only play the file back on the machine from which it was recorded?
Cheers.
