Hi. Just about to get my vouchers from whatever happens insurance for my old THPX50 panny (silver one), they gave me £900 not bad eh?

Anyway im thinking of getting the Panasonic G10, Cheapest iv seen it is £1139 from richer sounds, so going to try and get currys to price match

Also after a blue ray player, been looking at the Panasonic DMPBD35, if i plug this straight into the TV with a HDMI cable and get some surround sound speakers will the audio be Hi Def? If not what do i have to do?

I dont want to get a AV reciever have no spare cash for one, is it possible to get HI def sound without an AV receiver

Appreciate any help

Hi. :)
To get HD audio the easiest way is to get a HDMI 1.3 amp and bitstream the soundtracks from the player, not possible via the TV i'm afraid.
All the best.

Thanks for the reply, Do you recommend any? Cheap as possible but dont want to scimp on quality

I'm not sure what's the cheapest at the moment......maybe Onkyo 606 at about £350.
Sony do an entry level one as well.....Sony STR-DG820,might be cheaper but not sure.
