Ok this is for all you home cinema people, do you use your home cinema setup for watching all tv (from whatever source) or is it all kept back for only watching movies / special events.
    Thanks.

We have a lounge with a 32" widescreen that we do use but since moving from a digital PJ to a CRT we tend to use that far more than the TV ( dont have to worry about expensive bulb life anymore ).

About half and half. On TV it's mostly films, drama or Sport. It is also sometimes used by my wife to pacify the baby

Many thanks for all the replies, to those people who watch everything through the home cinema setup, can I further ask what your setup consists of, ie, what boxes when all plugged together give you the output to the screen.
    Thanks.

Hi lonestar, everything exept the freeview(no svhs) is plugged into my denon3801 using svhs sockets. It then goes to the tv on one svhs out and to my duece scaler on the other svhs out, which outputs everything rgb to the barco701.the sky+ also goes directly to the tv on scart rgb and also to my philips dvdr on scart (not rgb as sky + only outputs rgb on the tv scart ,sadley) the freeview box also goes to the dvdr on rgb scart and inturn is output in rgb to the scaler ,and the tv via scart, hope this helps

many thanks mediamogal, you cleared up a lot of questions about my potential home cinema setup. I presume that the sky+ s-video connection does not allow you watch true 16:9 widescreen feeds.

The Sky+ box will output whatever you set it to, including 16:9 anamorphic feeds.

    Friendly tip :)

Those of you running S-Video from the Sky+ box bare in mind that you will get a better picture by using a John Sim RGB to S-Video converter and using that output instead :)

Quite an obvious difference by all accounts.
