    Dear Sir/Madam,

Your recently placed an order on our website for a OEM product. OEM stands for Original Equipment for Manufacture which means that the item can only be purchased from ourselves as part of a system, it cannot be bought on its own.

Your order has been cancelled and no money taken from your card.

    Apologies for any inconvenience.

    Best Regards,

    BargainBuys365 Sales

Microsoft's OEM rules allow sale of OEM software with pretty much *any* hardware. You don't need to buy a "system". Purchasing a mouse at the same time should suffice! At least that used to be the case and I've not heard of any changes to the rules.

Yes that's my understanding too, I was considering purchasing an OS off of Ebuyer a few weeks back, OEM.

So as it stands, these people have misled customers to the pont of them handing over their credit and debit card details?

My understanding was the hardware had to be signficant, i.e. motherboard, hard drive, cpu etc?

didn't it also say it's an academic license? this means it's illegal to use it outside of an academic organisation such as a school or college. MS practically gives away the academic licenses to stop schools from buying Apples, so it's not surprising to see them on a website, my old housemate used to get tons of them in his pc shop.
