Hi All,

My new 50" Philips HDTV has a DVI connection on it, the set came with a DVI to VGA adaptor and also a VGA to Red, Green, Blue RCA lead.

I need to connect this dam tv to my showcentre but can for the life of me figure it out.

Also if possible how does sound go down the same DVI lead.

Thanks

DVI is video only. To get audio to the screen you will need to run another cable.

What outputs does the showcentre have & what inputs does the TV have?
You state that the TV has DVI-I, but what signals can this be set to accept?
What else do you want to connect to the TV?

Mark.

Hi Mark, nice to here from someone local, i'm over in Barking Essex, anyhow the show centre has component outputs for HD.

As for the TV its a Philips PF 7320 which has DVI with HDCP, it states on the web site
it displays 720p and 1080i signal at 50 and 60hz. I hope this means some thing to you.

The TV also has 2 scarts of which one is my NTL and the other a DVD Player.

Thanks

Right, I'm have a bit of a guess here but I assume that the DVI input with the use of the VGA adapter and VGA to RGB RCA lead will work with the component output of the showcentre. You will need to go into the DVI input setup and tell it to accept a component signal and that should get you up & running.

Mark.
