I'm a HC newbie, so please don't shoot me down in flames. I was going to buy the denon 500 to go with a Samsung 50'' HD DLP tv. However if I go for the 550 will I be able just to replace the dvd player with a HD dvd player (once available) or is it more complicated than that? Because if I can then I will be future proofing myself??
Yes you can replace the dvd player (would not like to say that you could definatly change it for a next-gen player being that there are not any yet, but can't see why not). Certainly more future proof than a single box unit (like the 500)...but who knows whats next round the corner? Buy what suits you now, trying to buy for the future means you never end up buying
Thx Conn. I will be buying very shortly, just trying to make the best decision, as the kit has got to last a very long time (Wifey's not happy at spending approx £2.5k on " tv & video"!!!)
Will the picture quality from a HD DVD player be significantly better than that of the 550 through component.? Thx
