Quick bursts of static when loading PS3 content

Active Member
Dunno if this has been mentioned, but I've got my PS3 linked up to my Samsung LE40R74BD via HDMI, and every time I load up Resistance: Fall of Man or any of the demos I've downloaded, I get a short burst of static on the screen for about a second or so...

Anyone else have this? Do I need to be worried? Or is it just a minor annoyance I've gotta get used to?

Sorry if this sounds like a right royal newbie question, but this is the first thing I've ever hooked up using HDMI...

As far as I know, its the PS3 changing resolution from 1080i to 720p.

Mine does the same thing, minor annoyance, but I can live with it.

I get the same on my Panny plasma. I have put it down to the PS3 switching resolution, eg from 1080i on the front end to 720p for games. No idea if I'm right though

It's HDCP renegotiation... some TVs don't like doing it and they display junk (I suspect it's the encrypted picture) for a flash before syncing up.

Fair enough... I thought it was something to do with switching resolutions, thanks for clearing it up
