Can any of the high storage portables do this? What I'm looking for is the ability to queue up several songs in advance (feature that WinAmp does particularly well on a PC).

Some seem to have the ability to queue up the next song whilst the current one is playing, but can any do several tracks in advance?

    Any help gratefully received.

Will playlists do what you require ?

Not sure John. I've never really got into playlists (maybe I don't fully understand what they are). I like sitting down listening to music and then queuing up tracks as my fancy takes me. Is that the same as creating a playlist?

I'd probably never ever listen to tracks in the same order again.

Apologies for the bump, but can anyone help me with this queuing issue? I'm more or less settled on buying a portable but do need to know whether any of the usual candidates can deal with the queuing that I require.

Thanks - any input gratefully received. :smashin:

My mate's Creative has the feature of selecting a different track whilst one is still playing. You then choose 'Now playing' (I think) from the menu and it queues it to be played next. This can be repeated as many times as you need. It's quite an old model (Zen Xtra), so I would have thought that the current models do. Exactly like a jukebox.

iPods do it as standard. There's an On-the-go playlist feature, whereby you can select any number of individual tracks or complete albums and put them in the playlist. This works simultaneously while you're playing them.
