This is probably is silly question, but what is the difference between component & phono leads.

The reason I ask is I need a lead approx 8-10m to run from my Sky box to an LCD. I plan to connect via a scart socket adaptor which has phono connections built in.

I will also be connecting a PS2 via the component feed at the rear of the LCD. IXOS provide numerous ones for the PS2, but the five lead one is referred to as component, whereas the three lead a phono.

Also what lead is regarded as the best in order for me to achieve the highest quality using an 8-10m length of cable .
