How cheap is cheap?
What outputs does your comp have?
What the flip does what the fudge mean?
im trying to stay around $50
my comp the standard 3.5 mm plug
what the fudge=what the ****
For that price you are probably better buying a decent curry for one of your mates and have him sit in the corner of the room...PJ

these are what i've been lookin at http://www.bigdealtv.com/productview.aspx?ID=873
I think at this price they are all going to be pretty similar. You may be best trying 2nd hand eg ebay...PJ
SQ= sound quality
Curry= spicy indian food
what the fudge is amusingly featured in this animation
Given the success at my last attempt at sarcasm (perhaps that should be sarchasm?) I won't make a 'helpful suggestion' involving purchase of a sturdy cardboard box and some cling film / saran wrap as a $50 subwoofer (although you could use the leftover $ to buy a really good wooden spoon to hit it with)...
I'm assuming that you want the subwoofer for your PC just to have a bit of extra thump when playing PC games, rather than as part of a high-end Media Server type scenario... If so, I don't think most of the people here will have too much to impart of use (correct me if I'm wrong). Ask us about a $500 (or $5000) subwoofer and we can probably give you an armload of useful information to leave your head spinning this way and that.
At your price point, you'd be looking at Creative Labs or perhaps Altec speakers and they are all pretty much the same really. Best you can do is head down to your nearest computer store (or Staples or WalMart or whatever) and take a look at what they've got. Maybe even ask someone to set one up for you so you can have a listen. But bear in mind that the sound in their warehouse-sized store will be very different from what you get in your room.
Buy something based on what it looks like, safe in the knowledge that for $50 what ever choice you make is going to sound about as good/bad as any other choice you could have made.
$5000 for a sub im not talkin bout an amp either your shopping at the wrong store or you buyin some really special sub i got a 12 solo x in my car for $700 it does not have really low bass (my freind install it) but it sound jus fine n i got a cheap ass amp pushin it right now.
