Hi,

I'm ripping my Blu ray and most of the time I get Full subtitles or Forced subtitles.

If I'm not wrong a full means everything is translated to the selected language into text. Force means everything which is not from the selected language is translated into text.

My question is, I have some files where their is subtitles but the text is only translation of the in-screen text and not the audio. What is the name of this type of subtitles ?

Regards,

Forced subs are intended for a foreign language dialogue or scene element (e.g. place or newspaper) having a on screen subtitle translation.

There are subs which exist as a separate track and are invoked during playback.

Then hardcoded subs are baked into the video stream so are always displayed.

There are lists with movies and subs here.
