    Hi …
I'm thinking of buying the Sony Dav-S880.

But on a German review I saw the following – bad rumour or what?

    Quote:
“Each potential buyer should know that it’s not possible to decode (listening to) external surround sound (e.g. from television, satbox or video/VCR). Despite existing surround signal in the source, only the stereophonic sound is played! Also when using the optical digital entrance!!! In the operating instructions one finds nothing about this, but on request to Sony this was confirmed!”
Same “problem” should exists on Sony’s other Dav’s systems!

Comments on this or own experience?

    Thanks
