Have you tried doing a rescan of the digital channels?

Yes mate, but the software needs upgrading on the tv to allow it to recieve these extra channels, as at the moment the tv doesn't have the space to accept them.I was led to believe that sony would send out a card, which was inserted into the cam in the back of the set, that would upgrade the software version

    What a bummer!
I can see your point about refusing to pay for what is a 2min job and free on any 40 quid set-top box.
Certainly puts you off buying an IDTV :thumbsdow

Apparently Sony used to send out the update cards on a promise that the customer would return them after use, but in this "me, me, me, I'm allright Jack" world in which we now live, too many people didn't bother.

I've heard that if you are persistant and vociferous enough with Sony you may still get one.

Failing that, see if your local service dealer is prepared to loan you one on a refundable deposit.
