Question re: Nebula DigiTV

    They say that Silicon Image SATA controllers cause problems by hogging resources on the PCI bus, is this true ?

    I've never heard of any problems with anything else like this ?

    so it seems there maybe a fix too. they also seem to think it's only silicon image controllers that cause problems, i guess i'll have to wait till i get my htpc with an athlon64 chipset, hopefuly nforce4 which has it's own sata controllers that aren't silicon image :)

    I should stress that it's not all SI controllers - I've got 2 SATA drives in RAID 0 using an onboard controller and a PCI Nebula card. It works a treat for me - and always has!

    what motherboard do you have ? i've got an asus a7n8x deluxe with a sil 3112 controller ?

    It's a Gigabyte GA-7VAXP Ultra with the 3112 SATARaid onboard controller.
