Question: LG SL5Y Soundbar settings for Movies & Gaming

Hi All,

I have recently purchased the LG SL5Y Soundbar with wireless sub-woofer and connected it upto my LG OLEB55BX via the HDMI ARC Socket.

It a 400w soundbar compared to the 40w speakers built into the TV.

Is there any general settings on the soundbar I should turn on or off?

Currently I have the soundbars surround sound turned on and usually have it set to the ASC Sound effect and leave the bass, treble, woofer

Sound effect options I have are:
  1. ASC (Adaptive Sound Control) Analyzes the property of the input sound and provides the sound optimized for the content in real time.
  2. BASS BLAST or BASS BLAST+ Reinforces the bass and powerful sound.
  3. STANDARD You can enjoy optimized sound.
  4. DTS VIRTUAL : X You can enjoy more immersive and cinematic surround sound.
Settings I can change on the soundbar for sound tuning:
  • Sub Woofer WF -15 ~ 6
  • Rear R -6 ~ 6
  • Treble TRE -5 ~ 5
  • Bass BAS -5 ~ 5
What would you recommendation be? I know everyone ears / sound preferences are different.

I would like a good sound for movies + when gaming on the ps5 for call of duty.

I was thinking bass blast for call of duty then ASC Or DTS for movies or general tv usage?

Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Dan
