Anyone got problems with NTSC playback?

Have had one of these for a month now, but it has gone to the repair shop. On NTSC DVD's (hooked up to RGB SCART), the top half inch of the screen is distorted. Vertical lines have a noticable bend in them, it's almost like watching a video when the tracking is off.

The engineer says they can fix this, but I'm not convinced. It's not a geometry problem because it's nowhere near as bad with PAL signals (almost completely un-noticable). Plus adjusting upper-corner-pin in the service menu did nothing the solve the problem.

It's a pity really, apart from this it's a great TV.
