I've set up a CCTV camera at my front door which has a Scart socket to my TV. When someone comes to my front door it automatically triggers the TV to show the camera view for a few seconds. This is good, but can sometimes be annoying if people r coming and going as the channel your watching obviouly goes off for a few seconds each time.
    IF
I had a TV with a "picture in picture" , could the TV be set so that the camera picture just appears in the small "picture in picture" bit, whilst the channel I am watching still can be watched(and heard).

    Cheers,

    Ash

    yes it can.

the scart is sending a signal to the tv to tell it switch. if you've already switched (even if its in PiP) then it wont switch again.

there is a button to switch between the main pic and PiP

We tend to watch a tivo program until we see a live program we're waiting for to appear in the pip, then we switch, stop tivo and watch the program
