Is it possible to use my AX5i and my old 2803 together maybe bi-amp them using the ax5i for processing & low frequency output and the 2803 for the high frequency output - any ideas or suggestions. would i gain any significant sound benefits & how would i do it.

You can use the ax5i to bi-amp the fronts in a 5 speaker setup anyway. I doubt you would get good results using the 2803 for the other speakers as the Pio has good amps in it with plenty of control. You could use the pre-outs of the pio to the multi in o fthe Denon in order to use it's amps if you wished. I wouldn't however use both amps on one speaker as they are likely to be tonally different.

Best thing to do is play about and see what gives good results.
