My Samsung uses an SD card so I just take the card out and stick it in my card reader instead of installing the software and going down that route. Whilst reading through the manual theres a warning not to use the SD card to transfer the images as it can cause a loss in quality. Anyone have any thoughts or knowledge of such a statement?

Seems like a load of nonsense to me (but i could be wrong) most use a card reader to transfer their pictures without any problems, incl me.:)

When you transfer using a SD reader you are making a copy of the digital file. There is no loss of quality as it should be an exact copy.

Yeah that's what I figured. Tho I dont think my Samsung likes me taking the pics off without deleting the image on the camera rather than on my pc

It is better to format the card after you have transferred the photos than to delete them from the card. There is less chance of corrupting the card if you format it. Maybe it is this that they talk about in your manual?
