What I want to do is use a Freecom mediaplayer (or equivalent) as a transport hosting all of my MP3s connected to my DAC through SPDIF. The spec sheet shows it as having AC3 and DTS passthrough via digital but no mention of PCM. This goes for all mediaplayers with digital out. Does anyone know if this is possible?

Also does anyone have a recommendation as to what player to go for in terms of ease of use ie setting up lists of albums to play etc.

    Thanks
