    Hi,

Ive been looking to buy a new 36" TV.
At first I wanted to buy the Toshiba 36ZD26, because I like the look, the quality looks good, has progressive scan and 100hz.

Then I found out that the progressive scan is on NTSC.
So I decided to buy a TV with both NTSC and PAL Progressive scan.

So I looked up the Toshiba 36ZP48P, but I really dont like the look of the TV and when I saw it in the show room the picture didnt look nice.

But I was wondering. I mainly use my TV for import dvds and import games, also Sky TV.
IF I have a multi region Progressive scan DVD player. and the Toshiba 36ZD26. Would I be able to watch U.S and Japanese DVD's in progressive scan? Or my U.S and Japanese Games?

Also any reviews on the Toshiba 36ZD26? Is there any problems with the screen that I didnt notice? or sound?

    Thank you

As long as the source can output prog scan in NTSC and your TV can play prog scan NTSC then it should work.

Where are you viewing the TV to 'test it out'? Almost all stores (and esp the likes of Dixons/ Currys/ Comet) have their TVs setup awfully - I am very surprised that actually manage to sell any TVs at all. If you dont know someone who's set you can see then you are much better going to a local indep store who actually know what they are doing

    Hi,

    Thanks for the anwser.

Yeah Ive looked up that the Toshiba 36ZP48P in places like Curry's, Comet and Costco. Also the colour of the TV doesnt suit my silver style layout, lol.

So would the Toshiba 36ZD26 be able to do that?

    Thanks again.

    Hi

I have a Toshiba 36ZD26 TV, and I can definitely recommend it.

It plays back NTSC films via component, and the quality is brilliant.

As for console games ie Xbox, I think the NTSC games display at 480p - I find this to be a big improvement over the non progressive scan PAL games.

It is also one of the nicest styled TVs I have seen IMO.

also most £80 - £100 dvd players now convert between ntsc/pal. I play region 2 pal in ntsc prog scan on my 28zd26 and its fantastic, i cant detect any FRC probs. Even if you decide to stick with pal for region 2, the tv has its own de-interlacer and displays as progressive, not quite as well as my dvd player does it however.
