Question about IR on plasma displays

Standard Member
I'm thinking about getting a LG plasma, but I've read that LG displays suffer from IR.

I've searched and read online, so I understand what IR is, but I've never really seen it before, so here's my - probably silly for most of you - question:

When logos, teletext etc are ghosted on the display, are they visible even "on top" of regular, not-black contents, or does the background have to be black to see it?

If I can watch a movie without seeing IR except on "really black parts", I'm thinking I can live with it, being on a tight budget and all.
