Your question is not stupid! And your English is good! :)

Im not familiar with either the TV or the DVD player you have, but ill try to answer your questions.

You said that your TV has an HDMI imput? If it does it should be HDCP.
The DVD player also has the same HDMI unput?

I think the problem might be with the settings you are using. Either the DVD player or the TV.

It could be the frequency (50hz or 60hz). You need to make sure the DVD player and TV are using the same frequency.

Also need to check that both the DVD player and TV support HDCP conections. You should be able to use that TV at 720p or 1080i as it does support it.

Try different settings untill you make it work. If nothing works then try contacting the shop where you bought everything.
    Good luck!
