I have a Samsung HD950 which is conected to my LCD tv via HDMI - HDMI cabel. If I where to disable the HDCP on the DVD would I be able to connect the DVD and tv via the HDMI - HDMI cabel?

In principle yes, HDMI as a standard encompasses hardware, the definition of the electrical connections which carry the signal, and software (HDCP), the encryption which infests it to prevent fair use ;).

Disabling HDCP will not prevent the digital signal being transmitted from the player and received by the display .. note that HDCP specifies that the SOURCE applies protection and a RECEIVER simply has to honour it, if the source never asks then the receiver is quite happy.
