I have a Panasonic PW6. I've just received a leaflet from Keene Electronics promoting their DVI to VGA convertor. Now my question is given that the PW6 isn't HDTV ready would the picture quality from a sky high def signal be as good with this as compared with a screen that does support HDTV ?

    Uncomplicated answers please !

A PWD6 only has 480 lines so a HDTV feed will not look as good on a PWD6 as it will do on say a PHD8 with 768 lines. Having said that a HD signal fed into a PWD6 looks much better than a SD signal being fed into a PWD6, so providing the Keene thing can convert a HD HDCP HDMI/DVI signal into a HD non HDCP VGA signal (it claims to be fully HDCP compliant so may be a HDCP stripper) then it may do a good job of converting HDCP HD signal into a VGA HD signal for non HD Ready kit.

Thanks for the post - at least it would appear that there will be some degree of improvement to enjoy.

Keene say that the convertor connects a device with DVI or HDMI output by converting the output to analogue RGBHV

At £225 it'd better be good!!! Link

That's nearly 20% of the cost of a new PWD8!!!
