This is probably a really daft question.

I know the HX510 records onto dual layer, but does it actually play dual layered disks?

Given that nearly every single commercial DVD released is dual layer, what do you think? And do you think it likely that Sony would release a recorder that couldn't play its own recordings?

    Of course it does.

Remember double layer is DVD + and Dual Layer is DVD -. Don't get the wrong discs.

There are also recorders and players that don't played burned double/dual layer discs but obviously can play all commerical DVD's.
