Ok I'll be receiving my Sanyo Z3 next week.. though I still have to buy decent cables, I'll be playing on my Gamecube, PS2 and Xbox on the PJ.. so I need cables for those systems

Component Cables are the best right? I'll be buying component cables for those systems off lik-sang, here you can find all the component cables they have:

    http://www.lik-sang.com/search.php?...ent&Button=Zoek

the thing is.. I can't directly connect that cable from my Gamecube/PS2/Xbox to the projector, because my projector is hanging on the other side of the room, the distance will be about 10 metres (= 33 feet) so I need a second pair of cables right?

So I need a second pair (3x) of component cables like these? : http://www.accellcables.com/press/p...nt_Cable_St.jpg

    Male on both sides.

Is all of this correct? Which component cables on lik-sang do you recommend me? Third pary is equal to first party? Which regular component cable do you recommend me? (gold ones, ...)

To make use of Progressive scan, you'll need your xbox modded and your GC to be a US one. Just so you know. :)

I'd have thought you'd need a female to male component cable because if I have understood correctly your in effect extending the GC/XBox cables.

I'd check this but my feeling is female to male.

    Anyone else know ?

yeh I extend the GC/xbox cables.. so the Xbox component cable is like this: on the one side you have the connector for the console itself (Xbox) and on the other end you have the male component.. I need to connect this with a new component cable, on that side a female component and on the other side to the Projector a male component

yes I think you are right

That's how I'd worked it in my head Frankeh but I wasn't sure exactly what was on the end of the xbox cable. If its definately male then yes you need a female to male component cable to extend to your pj.

'Component is Best' - definitely worth doing everything on YUV 'Component' if you have that option on all of your source devices.

Multiple Sources - if you have an AV Receiver does it have YUV switching; if not have you considered adding in an external 'Component' Switcher?

Cables - BetterCables, VanDamme and Mark Grant are all well made cables using high quality components at a range of affordable price points; your 10m run needs to be decent quality or you can suffer signal loss which negates the extra cost of going YUV 'Component' in the first place.

Gold Phono's are NOT an indicator that your looking at a decent cable! Lots of cheap tat comes with Gold Plating - see http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/2010949.stm :)

    Best regards

    Joe

    he said:

    Hello Frankeh

Your mate forgot the Sharp knife, wire cutters, soldering iron or crimp tool, plasters and cups of tea!

When you consider a well made set of VanDamme or Mark Grant RCA to RCA cables will cost you less than £45.00 its hard to see where the benefits of DIY are if your not someone who makes up lots of cables.

    Best regards

    Joe

PS Anim - use the Banner adds; remember they fund this site :)
