Perhaps it's a present. I can't imagine her rocking out to a 'wePod'. Or this could be a Sony / iRiver attempt to undermine the iPod of course, by instantly shredding any residual coolness that the iPod may have had at this time :rotfl:

It really is a load of rubbish, isn't it.

The article said she'd 'sent someone out' to buy one.

So, first up, how do you know the person buying the thing (presumably a member of the palace staff) was buying it for the queen - they'd hardly have said so (security).

If they were buying it at the queen's request, how do we know it wasn't for a present?

This country will be a better place the day people stop buying tabloids.

I think we missed a great chance here, just think if she'd got an HD5 instead and then joined our "cracked buttons" thread, now that would have been something :D

I cant wait for the Queen to open of the Parliaments with the crown and the white leads and buds protruding. Guess she'll have to change the dress to something darker than till today (otherwise, the white leads will not be seen).

apparently she asked for a royal discount.....oh the cheek.

if normal people on small salaries have to buy an ipod at the standard 209 pounds so should she.

Now listen! This is just going a small step too far! I don't wear a tracksuit, too much makeup, or hoop earrings...

I mean, I find that they clash with the white 'buds and are just a tad over the top. :D

Just look at the line-up at the gig for the jubilee. If that is what she is into then she is listening to white trash on white trash.

For me the machine that Apple make is too big, and that's all it takes to put me off it. iPod is about style and size of HD - great style but carrying that, AND a phone, laptop, paperwork and a copy of Razzle is a step too far!
