Cinemax (Banshee, Strike BacK) has given a pilot order to Quarry, based on the series of novels from author Max Allan Collins.

Written by Graham Gordy and Michael D.Fuller

Pilot to be directed by John Hillcoat (The Road, Lawless)
Set in the 1970s. It centers on a Marine sniper who, upon his return home from Vietnam in 1973, finds himself shunned by those he loves and demonized by the public.Combat-hardened and disillusioned, he’s recruited into a network of contract killers and corruption spanning the length of the Mississippi River.

With Cinemax delivering Banshee and Strike Back this is high on my list of look outs especially with how good Banshee is. :)

^^^ Cinemax is supposed to be a less cerebral more adult/soft porn version of mother channel HBO, but they seem to have ventured into more creative territory with Banshee and Hunted (with Kudos/BBC) ... but Strike Back is just well made dumb fun (Transporter was crap, but they were just a small co-producer)

Prometheus actor Logan Marshall-Green cast in lead role

Production has started

QUARRY stars Logan Marshall-Green (“Prometheus”) in the title role; Jodi Balfour (“Final Destination 5”) as Joni; Peter Mullan (HBO’s “Olive Kitteridge”) as The Broker; Nikki Amuka-Bird (“Luther”) as Ruth; and Damon Herriman (“Justified”) as Buddy; along with Jamie Hector (HBO’s “The Wire”) as Arthur; Edoardo Ballerini (“Romeo Must Die”) as Karl; and Skipp Sudduth (“Ronin”) as Lloyd.

LOS ANGELES, Feb. 2, 2015 – Production will begin March 30 on the eight-episode CINEMAX drama series QUARRY, it was announced by Michael Lombardo, president, HBO Programming. Based on the novels of Max Allan Collins, the show will be directed and executive produced by Greg Yaitanes (CINEMAX’s Emmy®-winning “Banshee”; Emmy® winner for directing “House, M.D.”), along with executive producer Steve Golin (HBO’s Emmy®-nominated “True Detective”). QUARRY is created and executive produced by Graham Gordy & Michael D. Fuller (“Rectify”).

“This nuanced and dynamic show marks an exciting moment in the evolution of CINEMAX programming,” said Lombardo.

QUARRY tells the story of Mac Conway, a Marine who returns home to Memphis from Vietnam in 1972 and finds himself shunned by those he loves and demonized by the public. As he struggles to cope with his experiences at war, Conway is drawn into a network of killing and corruption that spans the length of the Mississippi River.

Is Strike Back the thing that everyone raves about on Sky?

Miss-read the title as "Quincy", got excited...
Well, this looks good too...

It was ok, it's no Banshee, quite slow but enjoyable. got awkward with a Quarry and his Mrs there at the end.

‘Quarry': Logan Marshall-Green on the Difficult Emotional Journey of His Hitman Anti-Hero
During this exclusive interview with Collider, which took place in the HBO offices in Santa Monica, actor Logan Marshall-Green (who truly gives one of the best performances of the new fall TV season in this show) talked about playing this flawed anti-hero, the complex relationship between Mac and his wife, Joni (Jodi Balfour), the unique dynamic between Mac and fellow hitman Buddy (Damon Herriman), modeling his performance of the character after his own father, and shooting the series as one long movie. Be aware that there are some spoilers discussed
