If you want a simple and hilarious US take on QE, bank bailouts and the like I suggest visiting this site, it's one of the funniest explanations. I don't usually recommend web sites but this one is a cracker and would give spitting image a run for its money while being intelligent and informative.

they print the money, and then they buy the treasury bonds.

no. they buy the treasury bonds from the goldman sachs.

And they announce what and when they're going to buy, just so GS can offer crap prices.
Says it all about who they're trying to look after, imo.
