Quality of R2 "Girl with a pearl earring"

    Yes i bought this movie, my defense is the woman wanted to see it, but it isnt too bad...

    Anyway to the point of this post, the quality of the picture seemed very "soft". Now i'm not sure if its the style of the art direction - apparently the guy was going for a lot of the painters flavour when composing shots - the transfer to the disk, or my PJ/system acting up (i havent had time to check another movie, but TV directly after seemed ok).

    So anyone else seen this and thought "what the fudge?" about the image displayed?

    IZed, I think you'll find it's the film and/or the conversion to DVD. I watched it and thought it was soft, but other films are fine.

    Cheers, i did wonder was all - thought it might be a style-thing to capture 16th C Dutch life or something.
