I've currently got a Panasonic RA82 modded to SDI into my H3D SDI input card for Video Processing and scaling before projecting via my Barco BG808s, the audio out is via spdif into my TAG.

Am I sacrifycing the quality of audio (DVD Movies only NOT CD or DVD Audio) by using the Panny against something like say a DV88+ (using Component out into my H3D for Video)

    Summary:

Am I getting Excellent Video + mediocre sound from Panny or
Very Good Video + very good audio? from DV88+

    Hope this makes sense?

    Steve,

Use your HTPC with RME soundcard and you'll get the best of both worlds: excellent video and audio quality probably exceeding DV88.

But to play DVD's currently the Panny with SDI is better (albeit marginal) and definately easier to use, than TT. When I've ripped all my DVD's to my media server (next project) then I agree but I was curious as to others thoughts?
