There's a pretty tasty in game movie of Quake 4 over at Gamespot. It's looking very nice indeed!
Very much looking forward to this - don't know whether I'll go for the X360 or PC release. I played QIII Arena to death so am expecting big things from this!
I'll probably be going for the 360 release as I can't afford to upgrade my PC and invest in a 360. I'm sure that both versions will be very similar though.
It seems a less hectic affair that Q3Arena, which I personally prefer.
But the only caveat is that you won't get as good control with the X360 as you would with a PC!
Thinking the same myself - how can you play a FPS without a mouse/keyboard?
I used to be the same myself but I do probably enjoy using a pad more now. I agree it's not as easy but that's half the fun. With the PC I tended to find that I just put the cursor on someone and shoot. Far too easy, with a controller you actually feel that your holding and aiming a gun to an extent and it adds to the immersion.
Using a pad does take some getting used to and I must admit (as an long time PC FPS gamer) I hated it at first. I also find that I get less wrist strain with a pad. Each to their own though, a year or so back i'd have laughed at the idea of using a pad to play an FPS.
Imo, the only thing that could increase the immersion of the mouse & keyboard combo would be some kind of vibration pack!
