Hello,

I am planing to buy Quads 22L2s. I will use them as a stereo monitors for my home music studio.
I have a workstation desk which means if the speakers are on a floor the sound would be obstructed by the desk. Thus I am planing to mount the speakers on some short speakers stands.

Are there any disadvantages in doing so?
Can the floor towers be mounted on stands or will it ruin the sound?

I appreciate your advise.

Thank you.

Back in the day, speakers considerably larger than what passes for a floorstander these days were mounted on stands.

There is no reason at all why they can't be used on stands, as long as the stands are sturdy enough.:)

Thanks for the reply, Russell.

I assume that the base would have to come off in that case.

I've seen someone using 2 huge concrete bricks as short stands. If bricks are used then should I still use spikes as if it was on the floor?

Thank you.
