    Hiya,

I auditioned some Quad 11L speakers today, with a Linn Classik.

I played - if you're interested :) - Gregorio Allegri's Miserere, which has some very high pitched singing, and the Quads had a lot of distortion in the treble.

We switched to the Missions, and they were loads better

Has anyone else had a similar experience ?

Yesterday I tried Linn's own Katans, and they were, I think, the best - though more expensive of course !

Anyone got some Katans (preferably with other Linn kit) ?

    Cheers,

    Phil.

I'm happy to go on record and say that I think the Quad's are nice but overated. With some equipment and some music, they are extemely good but this isn't consistent. I'd rate the Epos M5 and the 780SE (with warm sources) over the 11L and if you have very warm equipment, you might want to look at the Triangle Titus.
