This may sound like a dumb question so excuse me in advance. Can I use the Gold banana plugs that I got from Profigold with new QED silver annaversary cable that I'm getting with my new Denon AVR-3805? Or should I just use the bare cables?

I was thinking there maybe a problem mixing gold & silver.

    Thanks & regards
    Grant

Shouldn't be a problem mixing gold and silver.

I am using QED silver with gold banana plugs, but some people prefer a bare wire connection.

I was actually talked out of buying banana plugs when I asked at Practical-Hifi.

The bloke in the shoptold me that any form of connector between the cable and amp will only introduce a further 'path loss' for the signal, and I really couldn't argue with that!

The only benefit I think they have is making your kit much easier to connect up and less likely to short circuit.
