I'm a relative novice as far as speaker wire is concerned.

I'm about to get a high-end Sony SACD player & compatible Sony amplifier and the shop is throwing in 20metres of QED QUODOS speaker cable (retail £3.00/metre) as a gesture of goodwill as I am a good customer of theirs.

Will this wire be up to scratch for the job?

I've been to the QED website (www.qed.co.uk) but there is no mention of this wire which leads me to believe that this might be an out-of-date product????

    Comments please...

It's had a name change - it's now sold as QED Original AFAIK.
Again, AFAIK, it's the same product, only the name changed!

As for it being suitable, I suppose it depends whether you buy into the "cables make a big difference" theory - I don't really (when you are talking normal average domestic usage), so I think it will be fine.
