    Hi!

    My Gallos arrive next week:D :D :D

Silver anniversary is ready to go for the satellites, just wondrering what everybody uses to hook up their subs... I've searched the forums and seen one or two suggestions but no mention of the above cable - any comments, any other recommendations?

    Ta,

    Wilbur

I have both the Ixos subwoofer cables and the QED cables you mention, for sub performance they are identical IMO, the Ixos does seem to a lot thicker though so maybe it has better shielding, go for the Ixos is my suggestion.

    ***bump***

Was hoping to put my order in for this today...

Anybody got any further input on the QED/Ixos comparison or alternative suggestions?

    Thanks,

    Wilbur

    Hi,

I use QED Qunex 2 for all my pre-amp interconnects (including Subs), I think they work great no need for anything more expensive (like the monster cables).
Only downside is they're only available in relatively short lengths, But thats not a problem for me.

    Paul.

I use a 4 metre long Ecosse The Conductor and find it does the job rather well. Cost me about £48 from memory, direct from Ecosse.

I'm getting the feeling that there's no hugely agreed upon mid-range cable to go for...

When the forum is asked about speaker cable QED Silver Anniversary allways seems to come out as a top recommendation, I guess I was just wondering if there was a similar product on the sub hook-up front.

Sounds as though any quality well screened interconnect will do the trick through - am I right?

Yes. Personally I had experienced good results with a pairs of Ecosse Conductors going from my CD player to pre-amp and power-amps. These cables were/are the best sounding to me out of maybe 4 or 5 low to mid price (£50 a pair) interconnects.

As they seemed very 'quick', clear and revealing, I thought a single length would work well on my sub. My only direct comparison to this on the sub was an old freebie cable that I'd been using on an older, poor quality sub so I guess the comparison was a little unfair but the Ecosse was streets ahead.

Any idea where I can find out more about/buy monster cables in this country? All I can seem to find is one Glasgow distributor on the web...
