    Hi
I'm just starting my first home cinema system.
I've got the Panasonic tx32pd30 and toshiba sd220, mission m3s and yamaha v440.
I'm currently deciding on speaker cable.

I will need about 22 metres.

I'm currently deciding on the QED original and the Ixos 6003.
I can get the QED for £2.19/m and ixos £1.75/m from hificonfidential.co.uk

Can anyone please tell me which speaker cable to buy as i'm unsure between these two.
I personally seem to fever the QED original. Any help?

Also, is it ok to use the same speaker cable on the front and centre speakers as the rear speakers?

    Thank you guys in advance
    Chris

if te cable is pink and purple then it's a good deal but is only as good as the QED, if it's the one thats grey and black it's a fantastic deal and go for it straight away!!

The purist approach is to have five identical speakers all connected by equal lengths of the same cable. Although my front three speakers are identical the rear two are different to the front and I have also used much cheaper cable to connect the rears.

    Read this,

    http://www.tnt-audio.com/clinica/spkcbl_e.html

You're probably better off with a couple lengths of two core and earth mains flex for pence a meter. I've tried it and I can't tell the difference between that and QED Silver Anniversary. Course, it won't have a flourescent purple jacket if looks are important to you (not taking the mick, I know it's important to some).

Personally, I've just made a couple lengths of TNT's CAT5 FFRC cable and if you are handy, I suggest you do the same. I'm going to post my thoughts in a mo once I have run through a few more CD's.
