Q system

    just got a panasonic Q system, and am using for for my main dvd player. i have a query....i have been using the pioneer 500, a very old dvd player since 1998. do the actual dolby chipsets, get better over the years, because the 5.1 from the Q seems much better!the 500 didn,t have dts so i could,t comment.what i mean to say did the early dvd players have a primitive 5.1 chipset.lastly what does dolby digital downmix mean?:confused:
