Hello,

Recently acquired a PYE 1226 Stereogram which appears to be in full working order other than the small metal clip that holds the stylus in place that has unfortunately snapped. Have not been able to find any information on the model online and attempts at finding similar cartridges have so far been unsuccessful. The metal clip was removable which leads me to believe it may be a more generic part, but I know very little about record player hardware so I could well be wrong.

Would appreciate any and all advice on possible solutions, seems such a shame that such a small element is rendering the record player unusable.

Thanks in advance :)

The turntable seems to be 1225. Try contacting these, there may be a replacement cartridge available:

Thanks for your reply! Have followed up with those you suggested with no luck. Having seen a couple other cartridges with the flip over stylus it appears the metal clip provides some sort of conduction/contact, would this be correct? I can't seem to find those sold separately, I imagine it's a custom piece for this cartridge head.

It's been far too long since I've had a TT in operation to be sure but I'd have thought that was just a retaining spring. Hopefully someone more knowledgeable can chip in.

Hi it will be a Tetrad cartridge...Which GetTheNeedle.co.uk have , complete with the headshell .. (often sold as GL78) I also have the styli for most of the tetrad variants.. ( It's my company and I don't remember receiving the original query, but we are all human!)
