Press and hold down the volume down button on the front panel and then press the status button on the remote three times quickly

You then select the SD mode by UP and Down on the remote then press the action button on the remote

PT is the cumulative Time for power on condition measured in hours
WT is the power on counter.

It doesn't say status button on the remote but its the button on the top right hand side with a square looking symbol. Sorry I cant describe it any better but I am currently at work.

The one to the bottom right of the joypad. Top left is N, top right is R and bottom right is a picture of a screen with a + sign in the bottom right, that is the status button.

Nope, it does work. Just make sure you don't have your hand over the IR sensor when pressing the volume button on the panel. Others have done so :D
