    Hi all,

First time thread for this forum, but I've been getting some great information from you guys. Anyway, I'm gundefinedetting my brand new Panny PW7 Plasma AV-Sales tomorrow. Just finished moving furniture, building an Ikea Bonde Sideboard, and re-cabling. Lookin' just fine now. Only thing that's missing is that big beautiful screen. Can't wait!! ;)

    Cheers,

    Rav

    Cograts RAV
Take it of dynamic mode as soon as you plug it in..... Normal or cinema should be fine and remember to adjust contrast and brightness to lowish for first few weeks.... I am sure you will be blown away mate.

i got my 37" pw7 yesterday and I'm blown away by it. only one problem though it has only 3 board slots on the back, i got one with a scart in and i am trying to locate a single slot s video card. anyone got any ideas where to get one from? the one that came with it isa 2 slot and if i use the s-video cable it overides the rest of the connections , so is of no use to me as i need to run sky+ and my DVD player. please help ahhhhhh! :lease:

    Talk about confusing...

On a PDF doc from Panasonic site (TH-7Series.pdf) I was <badly> surprised (but that's because I'm no expert on Pana displays) to see the 37" display model only has *2* optional board slots, and here's what it says:

Now Steve Lyons you say you just received yr TH-37PWD7 and it has *3* board slots... Hence my questions:

1- Are the *3* slots really free (or free-able  ) to slot in any optional baord, or is there in fact only 2 slots you can actually use?

2- What exactly does the "Standard Terminal Board" consist of? I should probably know, but couldn't find any info or pic anywhere, esp. not in the PDF doc... .
Is it the same as the TY-42TM6Y (with a bunch of Composite, S-Video, Component, and Audio RCA/BNC plugs)?

3- Does anyone know of a good pic of the back of a 37" PWD7 display? That would be useful for some of us.

I also need to better understand the differences between the Consumer displays and the Pro displays, in terms of part number and specs, but that's another topic already... (like I said, pretty ignorant I am on Pana displays... ).

37" should both be identical except for bezel colour. as far as i was aware only two slots perhaps a call to AV-sales is in order... they can give you a quote at the same time...

Steve or anyone who owns a PW7, my questions below should be fairly straight to answer... please!

    TIA,

Beside, Horny, thanks for the inputs.

I don't live in the UK therefore sent an e-mail to AV Sales 10 days ago but no answer. Tried to mp Alistair but his Inbox is full (got an error msg), so then posted about this inbox full issue in a few places but nothing happened, nobody from AV Sales seems to bother (since some of them are posting here) I'm sorry to say...

EDIT: Been now contacted by AV-Sales and promptly got an answer to my request; thought I'd want to mention it.

I think Steve has his knickers in a twist :)

The 37" chassis only has two expansion slots - whilst the 42, 50 and 65" chassis all have three expansion slots; there's simply not enough space in the 37" unit to take three expansion boards.

    Best regards

    Joe

Joe, excellent, that's what I thought too but thanks for confirming it.;)

Looks like Steve's so ecstatic about his new toy (and who can blame him?) that he overrated its inputs capabilities...

Still pondering things... very concerned with lack of 50Hz support on Pana PW7 screens (especially for 720p and 1080i, since I do believe some "serious" HDTV should start in the Paris area some time next year), and it's such a pain trying to know _for sure_ which input type accepts what resolution at what refresh rate... :suicide:

    Hi Steve,

I don't know if you've bought your scart boards yet, but I have a scart board which I'd like to swap for a dual-slot board. Let me know if you're interested.
