    Just received a new screen (TH42PW6) for my office today, It was supposed to come with a scart board but came with a component board (TY-42TM6Y).
    I had envisaged that I would simply connect a Sony VTXD800U freeview box via scart to the screen and attached plasma speakers for sound and that would be that.

    Before i go back to the supplier and having searched and read through the forum it seems that component would be better anyway as the scart picture can be variable and not as good.
    I have checked the Sony freeview box and it will output both RGB and Y/C via the TV scart outlet

    Can anyone confirm if this would work if i connected the freeview box to the screen with a scart to 6 phono cable as detailed :

    http://www.qed.co.uk/cables/sqart/av19.html

    If it would work my next question is that the Component/RGB in section of the board has 7 connectors on it (As Below), and the cable only has 6 connections, How would it be connected? :

    Audio Right
    Audio Left
    VD
    HD
    Pr/Cr/R
    Pb/Cb/B
    Y/G

    Any help would be much appreciated.

    Many Thanks

    Derek Hughes :thumbsup:

    I don't think you can connect a sky+ to a component board.
    nor can you connect a SCART to a RGBHV board as scart sends out
    RGB and Cs (Cs = sync on Composite)
    H = horizontal sync
    V = Vertical sync
    you can convert RGBCs to RGBHV using the JS SCART to plasma VGA box for £120
