me personally i would go with the sammy BUT it all depends on what you want out of it all in one or are happy with seperates ect...go to currys and ask them to hook up a dvd player with component and play a proper movie (fetch one in to be safe) not nemo or anything like that on it. Judge for yourself whether or not you like it.

Sorry welsh but i ahve to disagree...the worst place to demo plasma is at Currys..very artificial environment..go to a proper dealer!

I'd go for the panny, may be last gen screen but is was a very good screen anyway and at £999 including 5year warranty WOW.

I agree that Currys et all are better than nothing so if you do make sure that you take your own dvd to test with (not a pixar/animated one as they look excellent on virtually any screen)

As an Hitachi owner, I have read a few times that the PWD6 is better than the seven :smashin:

For that price, it must be right, but as you've been advised, check out the warranty :smashin:

No, but I'm sure I read a few times that there is new stuff on the 7 that people didn't like.
    Perhaps others will sought this???

And the 6 was/is rated as superb at £1500 :smashin:

I nearly bought one, cos it's the best I've seen, but went a different route.

For one the 6 can accpet component through the vga port which the 7 cant and to me the 6 just seemed to have a better pic overall the 7 just seemed to have something missing.

well i got this at robert whyte glasgow , have to thank them they could not be more helpfull . took along dvd`s of my own to try including recordings from sky, hooked up through the scart board as i will be using this for sky + and picture looked very good.

this is not a demo as the demo is on show in the shop and once paid for went to their warehouse to pickup where it was in the box along with another few they still had left.

good screen good service good price 5 year warranty

    happy customer

better be quick if you want one

scart board and plasma are sitting in front of me , they don`t do stands or boards but you can get off internet, the shop demo was on a stand so whoever buys this could get the stand.

goone I have a PW6 and did have a denon 2900 and that player was one of the best progressive players on the market and the performance was outstanding using the vga port. I have had experiance with 3 differance plasmas living with all of them being the pw6, pw7 and the new pa50 and I still think the 6 is the best I have seen.
