Hi,

My wife as asked if she can have a freeview box with a built in recorder for Christmas however she also asked if this box can also record her German satellite TV too with the same functionality like pause, rewind etc. The satellite box she has has a scart output but no HDMI.

Is there a box which could do this?

Thanks!

Rob

You would have to buy a DVD recorder with Freeview and a hard disk built in. A normal pvr has no way of recording external inputs (They do not have the capability to convert analogue inputs to digital). They don't need to as the tuners deliver a digital output which is simply saved to a hard disk. You would do better buying a pvr ready satellite box which will record independently to a usb disk, or a proper fta satellite box with a built in hard disk.
