I have an SHARP TUR160HA Digital TV Recorder on order.

I wonder is it possible to install a larger HDD inside.

Is it an 2.5" or 3.5" drive is it SATA or PATA

    does anybody know

    thanks

    John.

It is a 3.5 inch PATA drive in it. Max size is 160GB. You could change the 3.5 inch drive for a 2.5 inch one if you want to make it quiet.

I bought an 320gb seagate drive, but it is very hit and miss when its starting up.

I found out that the drive is pulling to much power for the PVR`s power supply.

So i have been doing a bit of reserch into low power HDD.

    I found this website

I ordered an Western Digital Caviar SE WD3200JB UATA

It uses a lot less power than the seagate and it works great in my PVR.

So if you are considering upgrading your HDD on you PVR make sure you take the power supply into consideration.

    regards

    John.
