how have you lot squeezed an amp, dvd player, free dvd recorder and centre speaker all in the one cabinet.

had the pio 575 got a better picture output than the dvd recorder if so i could loose the 575.

another option is for me to buy the pio vsx502-s slimline amp but that would mean throwing away a perfectly good amp.

    any thoughts

It does when you post immature and unhelpful comments.

I raised the bottom shelf so my amp fits on the lowest shelf, this leaves quite a narrow middle shelf but my pio 575 fits in there,I also tried sky+ box on middle-it fit but the cable tidy at the back of the shelf had to be removed.I then put my Sky+ box and centre speaker alongside each other on the top shelf.

I suppose it all depends how wide your centre speaker is and whether you go for a 37'' or 42''.

I noticed the cabinet on the 42" 500 is tight for av equipment, i know if you have a decent size amp its impossible (heightwise) to fit it in.

I know if you already have a cabinet you are limited, best option is to buy a ped and a av rack such as an alphason.

Good for you, personally i think the side flanks of the cab look too wide, they pinch quite a bit of storage space.

not a problem on the 50" mind, but the extra 2k is :)

i had this problem with the original viera cabinet stand - posted a thread on it a while ago

basically its pretty much impossible to get reasonably sized components within the cabinet especially any 'decent' centre speaker

i spoke to panasonic and reading between the lines it could be said that the cabinet is designed for all in one av systems :D

however, in fairness to panasonic they collected the stand and gave me a refund to the value of the pedestal stand that i had bought (could get no more as the cabinet stand was 'free' with the tv) - then had to buy an av table at more expense :(

Have a look at optimum stands. You can specify what height shelves you need and for less than what the pv500 stand costs.Ive gone for the av300 mk11 costs around £375 with chrome supports and they do look very good.
Discount electrical uk are doing buy now pay 12 months later which is good after having just splashed out £2500.

Ive tried the recorder against my sony 900v dvd player and the old sony wins on picture but slaughters it on sound.Think this maybe due to it only having optical connection (no coax connection).

i was referring to the stand actually mal. buy a telly, have a telly sound system that will fit on a telly stand. buy a panel, and customise it how you want. that cabinet is THE biggest rip off ever. its ugly, fat, and stores next to nothing, whereas an alphason look alike can be got for £100 and a proper one for not much more. dont call me "he" either, its chedmaster.
